I had a really fun weekend. On Saturday, I was in my studio making paper. I am always happy as a clam when I'm dipping the mould and deckle into the pulp.

Next, Bob and I had our friends, Bruce and Helen, took us using a free coupon to the Biltmore House. We have toured inside the mansion on other times, but this Sunday, we hiked around on the property and just felt like it was ours. We walked through the gardens, although they were not in their prime. And then we had to check out the winery!! Biltmore House has some very fine wines. My reccommendations are Biltmore Estate Chardonnay, Biltmore Collection Pinot Grigio, Cabernet Sauvignon Blanc de Noir, and Merlot. Those were very nice, especially the white wines, as I don't often drink them because they are too sweet.

Congratulations to Eddie Garcia--He's the winner of the journal pictured below. He has a fabulous blog about networking on the Internet with common sense approaches to courtesy, etiquette, as well as the pros and cons of 9-5 versus internet marketing. Check him out at

The weather is warming up in Asheville. More of my flowers are blooming and I am spotting more wildflowers on my drives to work each day. It means that I will be making more paper on the weekends, so watch my etsy shop for new types of paper!! (

We have had beautiful weather today and I love it that my daffodils are coming up. These are special as they were my daddy's bulbs. My sister and I each have 50 bulbs. Over the weekend, I busily made some paper for sanity!! Did you know that is a full moon today??!! The kids are wild, as my writing is. Also on the weekend, my son helped me make a video about making paper. I hope to have the video up on the weekend.

The contest will be extended to next wednesday, 18th at 7 pm. Look at these journals and choose your favorite. A lucky winner will receive this journal at the right---

Featured Winners--cbartworks and Treecycle

Congratulations to Treecycle also. I was moved by Andy's work because my dad used to make all kinds of things out of wood. He works in all kinds of wood by turning into gorgeous bowls, vases and hollow forms. He even has some mailable cards. He says "the beauty of wood is never knowing what lies beneath the bark of a tree". He allows the texture of the wood to guide his creative process and coloring. Visit his etsy site at Enjoy the slide show of my favorite works.

Congratulations to CBArtworks!! This artist is one of two that I chose to feature on my blog. This talented artist has many facets of creativity--metalsmithing, felting, polymer clay, beading and humorous fabric monsters with lavendar for that calming effect. A relatively new artist on etsy, her art is functional, created with an eye for design and a twist of laughter thrown in. Check out her full site at

Yeah, we have a real snow day!! We went sledding this morning. It was great! Here are pictures of my son Ashby and his friend, Joey. Yes, even I went sledding and my husband got into the act. That's my most favorite winter activity. We had a competition to see who slid the farthest. And I won!!!
